Faculty of Medicine

The faculty medicine was established in 2006. First graduates finished their medical education by the end of 2015-2016 academic year. As of today, we have 181 faculty members, 44 departments and education continue with a total of 321 students (5 foreigner) including 130 at first year, 121 at second year, and 70 at third year medical students. Hitit University has been using Çorum Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital as a research and implementation facility since  2012.

The hospital is a tertiary medical center with 770 inpatient bed capacity, and 120 intensive care unit capacity including general, surgical, internal medicine, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, pediatric, and newborn intensive care units.


There are 30 operating rooms equipped with advanced technology. In addition, two angiography and cardiac rehabilitation units, an advanced radiology department, chemotherapy unit, hemodialysis unit, invitro fertilization center, advanced interventional endoscopy unit, and various diagnostic and interventional units are serving for the patients in our city and nearby cities. For medical students, this hospital has been providing to improve their learning curve with the advantage of observing various diseases diagnosed and treated in this facility with the mentorship of our faculty members.

Department of Anatomy
Anatomy Department was established in 2011. Anatomy courses are given in the first two years of medical education. A total of 290 hours, 198 of which are theoretical and 92 are practical. In theoretical courses, students are aimed to learn the anatomical structure of the human body, the bone, musculoskeletal system, the anatomy of the heart and the circulation system, the respiratory system, the endocrine and urogenital system, the anatomy of the organs that make up the brain and nervous system.

There is a student lab for anatomy practical lessons. In practical lessons, it will be the basis of clinical education of students; Applications are made on models and cadavers that show the anatomy of the human body.


Department of Biostatics
The Biostatistics Department was established in 2011 as part of the Hitit University Faculty of Medicine The department takes part in the undergraduate education of the Faculty of Medicine and conducts Biostatistics and Informatics courses in the Faculty of Medicine (A total of 258 hours, 30 of which are theoretical and 228 are practical). Apart from the Faculty of Medicine, Biostatistics courses are given to other faculty and institute students of Hitit University.

Department of Medical Biology
Medical Biology Department was established in 2011. Medical Biology courses are given in the first year of medical education and they consist of both theoretical and practical courses with the aim of teaching both basic and current medical biology concepts.

Department of Physiology
Physiology Department was established in 2011. Physiology courses are given in the first two years of medical education. A total of 183 hours, 163 of which are theoretical and 40 are practical. In theoretical lessons, students are aimed to comprehend the functions of the human body at the level of molecule, cell, tissue, organ systems and as a whole and learn the interactions of the body with various factors.

There is a student laboratory for physiology practical lessons. In practical lessons, students will be able to base their clinical education; pulmonary function tests, blood pressure measurement methods, hemogram test, ECG, EMG, and EEG are applied.


Department of Histology and Embryology
Department of Histology and Embryology was established in 2011. “Histology and Embryology” theoretical and practical lessons are given by our faculty members in the first- and second-year course boards in the faculty. Besides, "Embryology" courses are given within the scope of the training of the specialist assistants of the "Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology" of our Faculty.

Department of Medical Biochemistry
Department of Medical Biochemistry was established in 2011. Medical Biochemistry courses are given in the first and second years of medical education and they consist of both theoretical and practical courses with the aim of teaching both basic and current medical biochemistry concepts.

Department of Medical Microbiology
Hitit University Medical Microbiology Department was established in 2011 In the field of Medical Microbiology, our department provides theoretical and practical education to Medical Faculty students of Term 1, Term 2 and Term 3. The mandatory rotations during the specialty training are: General microbiology, immunology, virology, molecular microbiology, bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, parasitology, hospital infections, laboratory management and ethics, blood center. External department rotations; Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology, Child Health and Diseases, Medical Biochemistry, Public Health.
