Department of Anthropology
Instituted in 2012
within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Hitit University, the Department of
Anthropology is dedicated to scholarly pursuits in Paleoanthropology, Physical
Anthropology, and Social Anthropology.
Education within
the department spans four specialized areas. The faculty is equipped with a
laboratory that facilitates the analysis of skeletal and fossil materials
discovered during archaeological excavations. Academics within the
Paleoanthropology section actively engage in numerous excavation and surface
survey projects, including Paşalar, Çorakyerler, Kyzikos, Parion, Balatlar, and
Hadrianopolis.
Department of Archaeology
As a discipline,
archaeology seeks to reconstruct the past by examining the material culture
produced by humans throughout history, analyzing daily life, social and
cultural structures, political organization, and belief systems. The
department's curriculum is designed with this understanding and is built upon
scientific criteria supported by a theoretical framework. Our curriculum also
aims to incorporate contemporary approaches and debates into the field of
archaeology through an interdisciplinary approach.
The Department of
Archaeology was established for the 2010-2011 academic year in line with the
goals mentioned above, offering a curriculum developed by faculty members
specialized in "Prehistory," "Protohistory and Near Eastern
Archaeology," and "Classical Archaeology." The academic staff
distribution within the department includes 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor,
3 PhD Lecturers, and 5 Research Assistants. The total number of undergraduate
and graduate students in the Department of Archaeology is 171.
Students in the

investments, and significantly improved the quality of education. This has
enabled our students to turn their theoretical knowledge into practice, conduct
original research, and become more equipped for their professions.
Additionally, our university has achieved a prominent position in our region
and across the country through the projects we have conducted with our academic
staff. These projects aim to contribute to our students, industries, and
society.

HITIT
UNIVERSITY APPLICATION TIMETABLE
Hitit University attaches serious importance to the applications of
international students to our university. Considering the experience gained in
the last three years and the feedback of the students, a sustainable and
student candidate-oriented application/evaluation and enrollment calendar has
been created. There are three application/evaluation windows in each semester.
Pre-registration means that a student who has to take Turkish preparatory
education must register at TÖMER. Turkish exempt students are required to pay
the tuition fee for the semester in which they are enrolled.
