The foreign national who will receive a student visa must submit the "University Acceptance Letter" from the university in Turkey to the Turkish Foreign Representative. The student visa must be entered in the student's passport, and those who come to Turkey without a student visa, with visa exemption or other visa types are not registered.

Foreign students who come to Turkey with a student visa and enroll in a university must apply for a residence permit for study purposes. The duration of the student visa issued by the Foreign Representative Office of the Republic of Turkey varies across countries. Student visas are issued for 30 or 90 days. The foreign student must apply to the Directorate of Migration Management of the province or district where he/she resides to obtain a residence permit for educational purposes before the expiration of this period.

The foreigner whose visa is canceled will not be able to obtain a residence permit for study purposes even if he/she re-enters Turkey within the scope of visa exemption. In this case, the foreigner will need to return to his/her country and obtain a student visa. Attention should be paid to these issues in order to avoid victimization.

If foreign students were previously enrolled in a university program and later change departments or universities, a new student visa is not required.
